The problem
Our project aimed to address the prevailing trend among today's teenagers who predominantly rely on fast food and industrially processed meals, preventing them from savoring the natural flavors of food.
The solution we used
To counter this, we introduced the "Cook your lunch!" activity, challenging students to explore the authentic taste of food. In the school's training kitchen, participants were tasked with preparing a complete four-course menu using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients obtained from nearby farms.
Implementation
Students were responsible for creating their own menus, carefully calculating the exact quantities of each ingredient procured from nearby farms.
The criteria for the menu were:
- seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- minimizing waste in the lunch preparation process.
The resulting lunches surprised the students with their unique taste and aroma, exposing them to flavors they hadn't experienced before.
